So, I don't necessarily believe in "karma," but I am positive that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction...
Just yesterday Christopher asked me if I ever feared a horrible fate would be bestowed upon me for my recent choices. My response was quick and blunt, "No, because God has already issued my due punishments."
And then, as if to prove that He is God and I am NOT, I get dealt a terrible blow today. You would think I would learn my lesson...everytime I say "Never," God says, "Oh yea? Watch this."
I know that it is entirely possible that Chris's potential year-long deployment has nothing to do with my indignant response to karma, but I am sure that there are lessons in this that Jesus is praying I learn this time.

So yesterday I was struck with great thankfulness that God gave me a generous heart and recently gave me an opportunity to own up to that characteristic.
It is also wonderful to experience the emotional results of doing things that you are created to do (you specifically, not mankind in general). And the freedom that comes from being able to do those things without big brother scrutinizing your every move.
It was an interesting epiphany...

Sometimes

Sometimes, life is tough. Hopefully, someday my writing will be eloquent and I can effectively communicate all that I feel.
Sometimes, you gotta take life as it comes and thank God for the experiences along the way. But sometimes, you gotta fight back and let Him know what you want. Not that He has to make it happen, but it is mentally exhilarating to at least tell Him how you would like it to play out.
Sometimes, you have to accept that the crap you deal with on a daily basis is of your own doing. Not necessarily karma, but choices that you make that lead you to a certain point. But sometimes, you have to make changes so that tomorrow is better than today. (Realizing, of course, that sometimes "tomorrow" is actually next year.)
Sometimes, you get dealt a crappy hand. And sometimes, you get dealt four aces. Make sure you know when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em.
Sometimes, your friends are all you need to make it through the day. But sometimes, your friends are not enough.
Sometimes, you just gotta laugh.
