The Relationship Triangle

I learned recently about a small little thing called the "Relationship Triangle."

Apparently, the three key elements to a relationship are:

Hope is having the energy to do things when I do not have trust or faith.

Faith being a mental decision to believe.

Trust is a goal, an outcome. Trust is the absence of conscious thought – I do not have to think about it. Trust is NOT something I can MAKE happen. (I.E. I trust that the sun will rise every single day in the East.)

Without these three elements that support each other (when one is weak, the others are strong), a relationship cannot be healthy, it cannot survive and it definitely will not be fun.

  1. unfortunately there is a fourth sucks but its true. Money is the key element to why divorce is so high. And once again unfortunately you have to have money in order to move on with life and give love and such. You and I probably disagree with what I said cause I know I do but its just a fact!

    your admirer!

  2. Dear Anonymous,

I appreciate your input. I agree that money is an important of a relationship.

I don't know that I agree, however, that money causes divorces. I know people blame it on money, but in my opinion, the reason money is a problem is only because our hope is lost or our faith is shattered or our trust is broken.

When hope is lost, there is no dream of tomorrow. When faith is shattered, it's impossible to be a team. When trust is broken, communication is lost.

I do not believe that money (or sex or children) cause divorce, ineffective communication causes divorce. Communication is effective when it is respectful and productive. Respect and a desire to move forward, come out of faith, hope and trust in the other person and the relationship.

I know my ideals are romantic, but at the same time, if we all got a little lost in our adoration for our partner, wouldn't the sunshine be brighter and warmer?

Thank you again for your post. I greatly appreciate your admiration ;)

  3. I agree 100% with what you say....just reiterating what people have said statistically really....I am with you 100% on the faith and such and why divorce happens....all good!
